Hygiene & Safety Standards — Lymphatic Drainage Massage Dubai
Every lymphatic drainage massage session we provide takes place outside a clinic environment — at your home or hotel across Dubai. Our lymphatic drainage massage service is built around maintaining clinical hygiene standards at your location, not in a fixed facility. This means our hygiene and safety practices are not tied to a single controlled space. They travel with every therapist, to every location, on every visit.
Regulatory Framework
All sessions are delivered under the following regulatory standards:
Dubai Health Authority (DHA)
Every therapist on our team holds an individual DHA license — not a company-level registration only. Individual licensing means each practitioner has been assessed, verified, and approved by the Dubai Health Authority as a qualified health and wellness professional. DHA licensing requires documented qualifications, verified training records, and ongoing compliance with Dubai healthcare practice standards.
Dubai Municipality
Dubai Municipality sets and enforces hygiene and safety standards for wellness services operating across Dubai. Our treatment practices, equipment handling, and contact material protocols meet the hygiene requirements established under Dubai Municipality wellness guidelines.
UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP)
Our service aligns with general health and safety frameworks established by the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention for wellness and supportive therapy practices operating in the UAE.
Equipment Standards
Every therapist travels to each session with a standardised equipment set that is prepared, cleaned, and checked before every visit.
Treatment surface
A portable professional massage table is used for every session. The table surface is wiped with medical-grade disinfectant before and after each appointment. A fresh protective cover is applied for every client — used once and replaced.
Linens and draping
All sheets, towels, and draping materials used during sessions are single-use disposable or professionally laundered between appointments. No linen used in one session is used in another without full laundering.
Therapist attire
Therapists wear clean professional attire to every appointment. Where direct contact with post-surgical areas is involved, appropriate protective measures are applied.
Lubricants and contact products
Where any product is applied to the skin during MLD, only professional-grade, hypoallergenic materials are used. Products are never double-dipped or shared between clients. Any product opened for a session is managed hygienically for that session only.
Hand Hygiene Protocol
Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a hands-on technique. Hand hygiene is the most critical single factor in preventing cross-contamination during any home or hotel visit.
Our therapists follow this protocol at every appointment:
- Hands are washed with soap and water for a minimum of 20 seconds before any client contact
- Alcohol-based hand sanitiser is applied after washing and before beginning treatment
- Hand hygiene is repeated after any break in treatment contact
- Nails are kept short and clean to prevent skin contact issues during manual technique
- No rings, bracelets, or hand jewellery are worn during sessions
Post-Surgical Session Hygiene
Clients recovering from cosmetic or surgical procedures require additional hygiene consideration. Surgical incision sites, drain locations, and treated tissue areas are more susceptible to infection during the recovery period.
Our approach for post-surgical sessions:
Pre-session assessment Before any technique is applied, your therapist reviews your surgical history, current healing status, and any specific instructions from your surgeon. Areas with active incision sites, open wounds, or surgical drains are never directly contacted during MLD.
No direct incision contact Manual Lymphatic Drainage for post-surgical recovery focuses on lymphatic pathways above and around treated areas — not directly on incision sites. Technique is mapped to support fluid movement away from the surgical area without placing pressure on healing tissue.
Surgeon guidance respected If your surgeon has provided specific post-operative care instructions, your therapist will review these before beginning treatment and adapt the session accordingly. We do not proceed with technique that conflicts with surgical recovery guidance.
Home and Hotel Environment Standards
Because we work in your environment rather than a fixed clinic, we arrive prepared to maintain clinical hygiene standards regardless of the setting.
Setup Therapists set up a designated treatment area using their own equipment — including the massage table, clean covers, and all materials needed for the session. Your furniture or bedding is not used as a treatment surface.
Waste management All single-use materials used during a session are removed and disposed of by the therapist after each appointment. We do not leave clinical or treatment waste at your location.
Ventilation and space Therapists assess the available space at each location to ensure adequate room for safe manual technique. Sessions are not conducted in spaces that do not allow appropriate therapist positioning and movement.
